Today, on Data Privacy Day, we’re reminded of the importance of protecting personal and organizational data in an increasingly connected world. With data volumes skyrocketing and cyber threats becoming more sophisticated, it’s critical for individuals and businesses to prioritize data privacy.  

Why January 28th?  

This day commemorates the signing of Convention 108 in 1981, the first legally binding international treaty on data protection. It serves as a global call to action to reflect on how we handle and safeguard sensitive information. This treaty laid the foundation for modern data protection laws worldwide, influencing frameworks like the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) in the European Union.
